March Lust List

I am so sorry I haven't posted in weeks!  I have just been so busy with schoolwork, track, and being sick.  However, it is March first, which means it is time for my monthly Lust List!  I would like to apologize again and reassure you that I will try to post more regularly.

Le printemps is finally here!  Winter was nice; however spring will definitely be better.  As the cold winter air leaves us for the sweet spring fever, it is time to box away those cozy winter sweaters and replace them with spring's most sought after skirts and dresses.

I have been glued to my style.com app on my phone, reviewing Fall RTW 2013, but also refreshing on the spring shows.  I have discovered my new found love for metallic and hologram inspired statement pieces, along with the spring staple of floral prints.  Jonathan Saunders and Burberry left me with a huge smile on my face.  Of course I will forever love the Burberry Prorsum shows, simple yet elegant (especially Spring RTW 2013 with Cara looking gorgeous strutting on the runway and Harry Styles sitting pretty in the front row), but I have also found a new place in my heart for Mr. Saunders!  The Jonathan Saunders show was all about techno-hologram pieces including cropped tops, strips, chevrons and shinny-metallic skirts.  I instantly fell in love with this entire collection and was craving more!

Spring Ready To Wear definitely inspired my March Lust List and I hope you enjoy it and become inspired as well!

Let The Games Begin

New York Fashion Week starts tomorrow!  Just take a moment and breath that in. I don't know about you, but I have been counting down the days.  Fall Ready To Wear shows are definitely my favorites.  I don't know why, I just feel a tighter connection to fall than spring and the clothing seems more put together.  I wished I lived in New York City and could experience the Fashion Week vibe first hand.  I can just imagine the models in their oh-so-chic off duty looks, the magazine editors and personnel running around to every-which show, and inhaling and exhaling the cool, crisp New York air.  Sadly, I am stuck on the West Coast in the moody weather of California (the forecast predicts rain when its been slightly warm thus far?!).  I guess I'll have to make it work with my Style.com app and I suppose I will be alright because tomorrow I will also be distracted with the fact that I am officially going to be sixteen years-old.  The mere thought of that number frightens me.  However, NYFW starts on February 7 and Julia's birthday is February 7; maybe it was meant to be that one day, maybe one day I will be involved in the industry and too join the crowds attending Fashion Week.  Recently it has been my dream to work at a fashion magazine or get an internship with a company that is involved in fashion and see where it leads me. It is every girls dream to sit front row at a fashion show and I hope that one day my dream will come!

With Love,
     Julia

Crowned Jules

16 is an extremely scary number.  Turning 16 is even more frightening to me; however, my party made me forget it all.  On Saturday, my friends and family helped me celebrate my 16th birthday (my actual birthday is on Thursday, February 7).  We took a limo into the city and toured around San Francisco.  I had never been inside a limo prior to my party and I am going to be completely honest, I felt like I was in Gossip Girl.  All of my friends looked so gorgeous and glamorous with their pretty dresses and Martinelli’s filled champagne glasses.  My parents gave me a Polaroid camera right before we got into the limo so my friends and I snapped loads of pictures with my new favorite accessory!  My Polaroid is my baby and I am absolutely obsessed with it.  I got the Polaroid 300 in black.  It is the cutest little thing and produces that cutest little pictures.  While in the limo, we blasted our music (singing, well rapping along to Thrift Shop was absolutely hilarious) and were pretending to be some hardcore partygoers, even though we are just a bunch of geeky-preparatory-school kids.

I was really excited to wear my new dress from Topshop!  It is a black dress with silver shoulder embellishments.  I fell in love with this dress when I saw it on their website and I knew I had to wear it to my party.  I paired my dress with a pair of new black heels from Guess, to finish off my birthday suit

While in San Francisco, we made pit stops at a few of the major tourist attractions before we made our way to our dinner reservations at The Slanted Door in the Ferry Building.  We made out first stop at Treasure Island as we were coming into the city, followed by Twin Peaks, The Palace of Fine Arts Theater, Fisherman's Wharf and Union Square.  As a girl from the bay, I actually had never been to Twin Peaks, Treasure Island, nor The Palace of Fine Arts Theater, so I was so much fun to explore sites right in my backyard.
